Vijay Antony starrer latest Tamil movie ‘Yaman’ has made a worldwide total box office collection of Rs 6.8 crore. Hitting 350 theatre screens in the south Indian state – Tamil Nadu, superstar Vijay’s first movie of this year registered a business of Rs 2.05 crore in the initial three days of the first week. The film is expected to earn about Rs 3 crore in second week.
Mia George, Thiagarajan and Sangili Murugan starrer cinema opened to a decent note on February 24, 2017. The celluloid had no competition at box office as no movie of any megastar hit screens last week. The latest Tamil flick got benefited of it and received immense response from the audiences in Tamil Nadu.
According to the trade analysts, the movie raked a collection of Rs 1.08 crore on day 1 in Tamil Nadu. It further witnessed gradual decline in the movie-watchers after Sunday (3rd day of its release). The celluloid reported drop in the box office earnings on Monday (4th day) and Tuesday (5th day) and registered a business of Rs 35 lakhs in Chennai.
Produced under the banner of Lyca Productions, the Tamil film didn’t hit screens in other states as it has been released in one language. It had no scope of making business in Telugu speaking states as Suriya, Anushka Shetty and Shruti Hassan starrer Singam 3 has a good hold in cinema halls there. Also the Telugu version of ‘The Ghazi Attack’ is divulging a big amount of audiences to its screening in the theatres in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
