Rajkumar Rao’s latest Bollywood film ‘Trapped’ reportedly collected Rs 0.4 crore in opening weekend. The celluloid, which also stars Geetanjali Thapa alongside ‘Citylights’ actor in major role, reported around 15% occupancy in the first weekend and garnered average collection at India’s box office. Directed by Vikramaditya Motwane, the cinema made no business in overseas.
Though the film is based on a tragic condition of a person who gets trapped in an empty high rise and survives there without water, food as well as electricity, audiences are responding to the romantic love story of Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan in the film ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’. The movie ‘Trapped’ is also endeavoring to make a good business amidst the box office race with ‘Machine’ and ‘Aa Gaya Hero’.
Opening on a decent note on 17th March, Rao’s Hindi flick faced box office clash with superstar Govinda’s latest Bollywood movie. The comeback movie of Govinda impacted the business of ‘Trapped’ and hindered the box office journey of the film by divulging a major chunk of spectators in the cinema halls. The newly released celluloid is struggling to make good revenue out of its releases on the remaining days of first week.
Produced by India’s popular filmmakers Madhu Mantena, Vikas Bahl and Anurag Kashyap, the film ‘Trapped’ has been getting a decent response in the theatres as a big number of audience has been attracted towards ‘Aa Gaya Hero’ and ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’. Rajkumar and Geetanjali starrer flick didn’t make a good business in overseas. Latest box office figures are awaited.
