Newly released Hindi cinema ‘Trapped’ grossed Rs 0.21 crore box office collection on 5th day of its release. The celluloid, which features Geetanjali Thapa and Rajkumar Rao in lead roles, witnessed drop in the theatre occupancy on 1st Tuesday. Till now, the movie has gathered an overall collection of Rs 1.75 crore at India’s box office.
The Hindi flick started its journey at box office with Rs 0.29 crore first day collection. Reporting further growth in the business on Saturday and Sunday, the movie collected Rs 0.46 crore and Rs 0.69 crore on 2nd and 3rd day of its release, respectively. Thus, the Bollywood offering minted a total box office collection of Rs 1.44 crore in first weekend.
Releasing on more than 500 screens in India, the celluloid experienced box office clash with latest Hindi cinemas – ‘Machince’ and ‘Aa Gaya Hero’. Apart from the competition with these movies, Vikramaditya Motwane‘s directorial venture confronted with Shashank Khaitan’s ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’ which still has a good hold in the cinema halls across the country.
The movie not only showcased poor performance in domestic arena but also received dull response from the audiences in foreign countries. Witnessing negligible occupancy in overseas, the celluloid collected zero business in international market. The Hindi flick has grossed a total box office income of Rs 1.75 crore and is expected to enter 2-crore club by the end of this week.
