Latest Bollywood movie ‘Trapped’ collected Rs 20 lakhs on fourth day of its release. Witnessing 7% occupancy on its first Monday in Indian cinema, the celluloid showcased poor performance in the theatres. The film grossed total box office collection of Rs 1.66 crore in four days. Rajkumar Rao and Geetanjali Thapa starrer cinema is expected to get steady response from audiences throughout the first week.

Releasing on 300 screens in India, the Hindi thriller flick kicked off its box office journey with Rs 26 lakhs opening day collection. The cinema witnessed 50% growth in its business on Saturday and Sunday. With a good hike in the income, the film collected Rs 46 lakhs and Rs 69 lakhs on 2nd and 3rd day of its release, respectively. On 4th day, the movie grossed Rs 20 lakhs.

Directed by India’s famous film-director Vikramaditya Motwane, the celluloid minted poor business in the overseas. After receiving dull response from the spectators in Indian cinema halls, filmmakers were expecting their cinema to rake a satisfactory response in overseas. But the cinema didn’t become a word of mouth for foreign audiences and registered no business in the international market.

In India, the celluloid clashed at box office with the newly released Bollywood cinemas – ‘Aa Gaya Hero’ and ‘Machine’. The movie also witnessed a tough box office competition with Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt starrer ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’. The box office clash with these films has hindered the journey of ‘Trapped’ movie, which is expected to earn steady income in coming days.
