45 days collection of Tiger Zinda Hai took the total box office business to the next level. Addition of overseas earnings escalated the worldwide income to the height of new record. Witnessing around 35% occupancy in the morning, noon, evening and night shows on 2nd Friday, the newly released action thriller flick received humongous response from the audiences not only in India but also in the foreign countries.
Earning a whopping income of Rs 33.75 crore on opening day, Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer new Hindi flick emerged as the 2nd highest opening day grosser celluloid of year 2017. Creating new record as Bollywood box office, the latest Indian movie faced 80% occupancy on first day of its release. After fetching a good response from the film-watchers in overseas, the Hindi offering garnered a thumping business in the international market.
Releasing on big number of screens in United Arab Emirates and other nearby countries, Ali Abbas Jafar’s directorial venture raked in an astounding income of Rs 6.10 crore on Thursday. Pre-release business and advance ticket booking gave boost to the overall earnings bagged by the celluloid. Attracting a major chunk of foreigner fans, ‘Yash Raj Films’ latest production showcased admirable performance at worldwide box office.
Featuring Paresh Rawal, Angad Bedi and Sujeeth in supporting roles, the latest Bollywood film released on 39 screens in Australia. Hitting on minute number of screens in the Australian country, the sequel of ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ collected a moderate income of Rs 1.01 crore. The movie was also released in New Zealand, the neighbouring country of Australia. Exhibiting poor performance in NZ, the action flick pocketed Rs 0.34 crore on day 1.
Beating the opening day earnings grossed by recently released comedy celluloid ‘Golmaal Again’, which had earned Rs 30.14 crore on first day, the second installment of ‘Tiger’ series became the 2nd highest opening day earner film of the year. Managing to surpass the first day collection of ‘Tubelight’ (Rs 21.15 crore), the action cinema also beat Shah Rukh Khan starrer Raees, which had minted Rs 20.42 crore income on opening day.
However, the celluloid could not beat ‘Bahubali 2 : The Conclusion’ in the box office race. Falling short to earn Rs 8.25 crore, the Hindi flick didn’t manage to earn more income than the business registered by Prabhas, Tamannah Bhatia and Anushka Shetty led movie on first day. Amassing Rs 41 crore (Hindi version), the 2nd part of most popular Indian movie ‘Bahubali : The Beginning’ had taken flying start at box office. Salman Khan’s fans are expecting his film to cross Rs 100-crore mark in initial weekend.
