Amit Roy directed Running Shaadi has made a total collection of Rs 0.6 crore in India. The film, which stars Taapsee Pannu, Amit Sadh and Arsh Bajwa in lead roles, is witnessing a decent occupancy on 1st Wednesday of its release. The movie has completed five days at box office and is earning the collection at a stagnant rate.
The morning occupancy of the film was reported to be 5 to 10%. As the major chunk of audiences has been divulged to the screening of Jolly LLB 2. Also the newly released Hindi films – The Ghazi Attack, Chauhar and Irada are attracting an average number of spectators in the cinema halls. This divergence of audiences is impacting the business of Running Shaadi.
The movie, which is based on a matrimonial website, has collected a good revenue in overseas. The first week collection of the film has impressed the filmmakers, who are expecting hike in its earnings on 6th day. With a 10% occupancy on February 22, the film is expected bag a box office amount in some lacs.
On other hand, the competitor films of Running Shaadi have reported a good occupancy in theatres on day 6. Akshay Kumar, Huma Qureshi and Anu Kapoor starrer latest Hindi celluloid has witnessed around 20% occupancy while Taapsee Pannu, Rana Daggubati and Naseeruddin Shah led flick reported around 10-12% occupancy in the cinema halls.
As Saif Ali Khan, Shahid Kapoor and Kangana Ranaut starrer Rangoon is set to open in theatres on this Friday (24th February), Running Shaadi is expecting steadiness in its business in by end of second weekend days.
