Shahid Kapoor’s latest Hindi movie ‘Rangoon’ witnessed massive drop in the box office collection and totalled an amount of Rs 19.45 crore in ten days. With the poor response from audiences, Vishal Bhardwaj’s directorial venture grossed Rs 0.25 crore on 2nd Sunday. Till now, the film has made a worldwide business of Rs 39.06 crore in 10 days.
The celluloid began its box office journey with Rs 5.05 crore opening day collection. Witnessing a little declination in the earnings, the Bollywood flick raked Rs 4.8 crore on second day. On third day, which was Sunday, the movie registered a business of Rs 4.68 crore and amassed a total amount of Rs 14.33 crore in the weekend days.
On Monday, the film reported steep drop in its business and collected Rs 1.3 crore. The cinema showcased gradual decline in the box office collection on Tuesday and minted Rs 1.2 crore on that day. On Wednesday (6th day of release), Saif Ali Khan and Kangana Ranaut starrer cinema made a business of Rs 1.0 crore. The film collected Rs 0.9 crore on 7th day.
After grossing a total collection of Rs 18.73 crore in first week, Rangoon reported less response from the audiences in cinema halls and bagged Rs 0.1 crore on Friday. The film’s business witnessed a slight hike on Saturday and collected Rs 0.2 crore. Seeing culmination in the box office business on following day, the celluloid grossed Rs 0.25 crore on 10th day of its release.
Apart from the overall domestic box office collection of Rs 27.01 crore, ‘Rangoon’ film performed excellently in the overseas. The movie made a business of Rs 3.15 crore in North America, Rs 0.72 crore in United Kingdom, Rs 4.51 crore in United Arab Emirates, Rs 0.53 in Australia, Rs 0.06 crore in Malaysia, Rs 1.01 crore in Pakistan, Rs 0.15 crore in New Zealand and Rs 1.92 crore in rest of the world. The celluloid grossed a total collection of Rs 12.05 crore in foreign countries.
