Latest Kannada movie ‘Rajakumara’ witnessed average occupancy on the day of its release. Hitting the screens on this Friday (24th March), the celluloid reportedly grossed Rs 2.65 crore on opening day. The film reported about 15-25% occupancy on first day and received medium response from the audiences in cinema halls across the Karnataka state.

The Sandalwood movie, which stars Anath Nag, Prakash Raj and Sarath Kumar in lead roles, opened on a decent note. The celluloid didn’t face box office clash with any other Kannada movie on the day of its release. The offering, which also features Sadhu Kokila, Honnavalli Krishna, Achyuth Kumar, Chikkanna, Rangayana Raghu and Chitra Shenoy in supporting roles, is expected to collect Rs 7 crore in first weekend.

Bollywood movies ‘Phillauri’ and ‘Anaarkali Of Araah’ opened in several theatres on this Friday. But these cinemas failed to perform well the south Indian zone as Pawan Kalyan and Shurti Hassan’s latest Telugu flick hit screens on the same. Also the Kannada offering garnered a good attention of public domain on that day and the newly released Hindi movies made low business in the Telugu and Kannada speaking states.

Puneet Rajkumar and Priya Anand starrer fresh release has managed to influence a major chunk of spectators in the cinema halls and multiplexes in the Kannada speaking region. The movie is not requiring to struggle hard to curb the public attention as the response for Kannada film ‘Hebulli’ has lowered and people are interestingly watching the newly released flick. Latest box office figures scored by this cinema are awaited.
