Jagdish Watharkar directed latest Marathi movie ‘Premaya Namah’ opened to a decent occupancy on first day of its release. Witnessing around 2-7% occupancy on opening day, the film raked a business in lacs. As the film has been released in only one language, it is being screened only in the Marathi speaking state – Maharashtra.
The romantic love story, which narrates the implications in the lives of two crazy lovers, couldn’t impress the Marathi speaking audiences. The celluloid was screened at several multiplexes and cinema halls in the mega cities like Mumbai, Kolhapur, Nagpur and Pune. The movie opened on a decent note in the Maharashtra state.
As the newly released Bollywood movie ‘Commando 2 : The Black Money Trail’ is grabbing more attention of the movie-watchers, the regional language film is unable to make its business. The Marathi flick received mixed reviews from critics as well as average response from the public domain. The celluloid witnessed less number of footfalls in the theatres.
In weekend days, the movie is expected to show some growth as citizens get free time due to half working day (Saturday) and full holiday (Sunday). The cinema is predicted make an overall business of Rs 0.08 crore in the initial three days of the first week. Premaya Namah bagged zero collection in the international market on opening day.
