Produced by Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma, latest Hindi movie ‘Phillauri’ raked Rs 1.79 crore on fifth day of its release. Witnessing a gradual drop on day 5, the celluloid received poor response from the audiences on Tuesday. Till now, this cinema has grossed Rs 19.06 crore total box office collection in India and Rs 31.73 crore income in overseas.
Starring Diljiat Dosanjh in the role opposite Anushka, the Hindi offering commenced its box office journey with Rs 4.02 crore first day earnings. The movie reported about 30-35% occupancy on Friday (24th March) and grossed average amount on that day. Witnessing a little hike in its business, the celluloid collected Rs 5.2 crore on second day.
After garnering Rs 9.22 crore in two days, the film showcased improvement in its performance on 3rd day and registered a business of Rs 6.03 crore on Sunday. Thus, the Bollywood flick totalled an amount of Rs 15.25 crore in opening weekend. The cinema experienced drop in the occupancy on Monday and grossed Rs 2.02 crore income on 4th day.
Minting a whopping amount of Rs 17.27 crore in four days, the celluloid exhibited gradual decline in the collection on Indian box office on fifth day. The movie, which is based on a romantic ghost story, witnessed about 10-15% occupancy on its first Tuesday in Indian cinema. With Rs 1.79 crore collection on day 5, the cinema totalled a business of Rs 19.06 crore in domestic arena. Alongside the fabulous earnings in India, the Hindi offering curbed massive response from foreigner audiences.
Bagging a big revenue in international market, the movie collected Rs 0.21 crore in New Zealand, Rs 1.69 crore in North American countries (Canada and United States), Rs 0.01 crore in Malaysia, Rs 0.52 crore in Australia, Rs 0.009 crore in Germany, Rs 0.72 crore in United Kingdom and Rs 2.37 crore in United Arab Emirates. Thus, the Anshai Lal’s directorial project grossed Rs 29.53 crore collection in overseas.
