Directed by Anshai Lal, Diljit Dosanjh and Anushka Sharma starrer latest Hindi movie ‘Phillauri’ made a business of Rs 5.20 crore on 2nd day of its release. The celluloid witnessed growth in its income and reported about 30% occupancy on day 2. Anushka Sharma’s third production collected Rs 9.25 crore overall box office collection in two days of its first week in Indian cinema.

The romantic flick, which has been produced by the actress herself, kicked off its box office journey with Rs 4.05 crore first day collection. The film hit screens on this Friday (March 24) and witnessed box office clash with Swara Bhaskar’s movie ‘Anaarkali Of Araah’. The fresh release as well as Shashank Khaitan’s movie ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’ had a little impact on the performance of ‘Phillauri’.

On Saturday, the celluloid exhibited normal growth in its business and witnessed about 30-35% occupancy. Releasing on more than 700 screens in India, the film reported maximum response in northern and central Indian states. The Hindi offering gained poor response in south Indian states as Pawan Kalyan’s new movie ‘Katamarayudu’ has a good hold in the Telugu speaking areas and nearby regions.

Apart from the whopping business in domestic arena, Anushka’s film showcased excellent performance in the international market. Witnessing an average response in overseas, ‘Phillauri’ grossed an overall collection of Rs 0.89 crore in foreign countries. The movie made a business of Rs 0.06 crore in New Zealand and Rs 0.18 crore in United Kingdom. The film minted Rs 0.17 crore in Australia and Rs 0.8 crore in Northern America.
