Anushka Sharma starrer latest Bollywood movie ‘Phillauri’ minted Rs 4.05 crore as its first day box office collection. The celluloid, which features the actress and Diljit Dosanjh in significant roles, reported about 20-25% occupancy on 1st day of its release. Produced by the actress herself, the Hindi cinema witnessed an average response from the audiences.
On first Friday, the film faced box office clash with ‘Anaarkali Of Araah’ and ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’. The movie’s business didn’t get impacted with the adjacently released flick. But the celluloid reported a big effect of its box office competition with the second installment of ‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania’, which still has a good hold in the cinema halls.
Anushka’s movie failed to perform well in the Telugu speaking states as Pawan Kalyan and Shruti Hassan starrer offering ‘Katamarayudu’ opened to a huge response from spectators in the theatres. Shurti’s second film with Pawan divulged massive attention of public and collected a whopping income on the first day of its release in several multiplexes.
Directed by Anshai Lal, Anushka’s third production received poor response in the foreign market. Though the celluloid showcased average performance in domestic zones, it didn’t manage to influence the audiences in overseas and registered very low business in the international arena. The Hindi flick is expected to make Rs 15 crore collection in first weekend. Latest box office figures are awaited.
