Latest Hindi Movie Padmavat (Padmavati) box office collection in 56 days, including total worldwide income and overseas business report, took the film’s earnings to the next level. Directed by well-reputed Bollywood filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the latest most controversial celluloid of India witnessed good occupancy in south Indian states – Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Karnataka, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh. Vandalism and violence were reported in Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra.
Featuring Shahid Kapoor, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh in leading roles, the latest Bollywood celluloid received good response in southern part of India. As the state governments of western states of the country have banned the film’s release, the movie could not gain any response from audience in those regions. Helm protests entailed the owners of several multiplexes and cinema halls not to screen the movie in their theatres.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s previous epic film ‘Bajirao Mastani’ too had faced opposition from certain groups of people in the society. The movie features Deepika Padukone, Priyanka Chopra and Ranveer Singh in prominent characters. Releasing across the globe, the multi-starrer offering had raked in Rs 12.80 crore box office collection on opening day. According to the experts’ prediction, Padmaavat 44th day box office collection will mere cross Rs 20 crore if ban over the movie remains continue in other states.
The film was originally scheduled for release on December 1. It was cleared by the censor board with a few changes, but later banned by some state governments, including Rajasthan, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh. The Supreme Court later struck down the ban, citing the freedom of expression, and paved the way for its release today. In a particularly disturbing incident in Gurgaon, a group of some people attacked a school bus with children with sticks and stones.

The movie started its box office journey on a higher note. Witnessing sufficient occupancy in the cinema halls across the states where the movie was released on maximum number of screens, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s directorial earned Rs 19 crore income on opening day. In overseas, the movie received average response from the foreign audiences and minted Rs 2 crore total worldwide box office collection on first day of its release across the globe.

After taking a thundering start on Indian box office, the multi-starrer Hindi offering witnessed humongous occupancy in the cinema halls on following day. Managing to drive a huge number of audiences into the cinema halls and multiplexes across the states, where the film is allowed to hit screens, the Bollywood celluloid raked in Rs 32.00 crore total box office collection on 2nd day of its release in India and other foreign countries.
Padmavat 3rd Day Box Office Collection
Failing to maintain consistency in the performance at Box Office, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s directorial venture witnessed minor drop in the theatre occupancy on Saturday. Receiving slightly low response on third day of release, the latest Bollywood offering minted Rs 27 crore and took the overall earnings to the next level. The multi-starrer Hindi flick registered a business of Rs 83 crore in three days.
Padmavat 4th Day Box Office Collection
After crossing Rs 80 crore mark in three days, Deepika Padukone starrer magnum opus enhanced its overall performance at Indian box office. Facing a huge growth in public response, the Bollywood movie entered 100-crore club with grossing a whopping amount of Rs 31 crore on 4th day of its release. In four days, the movie amassed Rs 114 crore total earnings and became the first movie of 2018 to cross Rs 100 crore mark in opening weekend.

Taking a thundering start to box office journey, the Bollywood offering witnessed abrupt drop in the response from audiences on fifth day. The Hindi film received average response from the film-watchers in Maharashtra, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerala. Though the Hindi flick could attract less number of spectators in the north Indian states, it managed to earn Rs 15 crore on 5th day of its release.
