Sonakshi Sinha’s earlier cinema Akiraa, which was based on woman empowerment, earned Rs 5.15 crore on first day. Trade analysts predicted that this new one will surpass 1 crore club on first day. The low expectations have been built on the basis of the current scenario of Indian box office, which has been majorly dominated by the eighth installment of Fast and Furious franchise.
Apart from the Hollywood flick, also Vidya Balan starrer Bollywood movie has divulged a great number of spectators. Divergence of a huge audiences due to the parallel films has impacted the response for Noor. Not only the adjacent movies but also the ongoing IPL tournament too seems to have affected the business done by the celluloid in evening and night shows.
Sonakshi’s Akiraa had an ample response from public domain. Receiving positive feedback from the critics as well as movie-watchers, the celluloid had registered a total business of Rs 28.69 crore in three weeks. The movie raked Rs 46.38 crore worldwide collection in 21 days and became one of the highest earner films of year 2016.
