Sai Ramani directed latest Tamil movie ‘Motta Shiva Ketta Shiva’ minted Rs 11 crore box office collection in opening weekend. The celluloid reported good occupancy in Chennai and other cities of Tamil Nadu. Witnessing around 20-25% occupancy in cinema halls throughout the first week, the movie surpassed 10-crore mark in first-three days of release.
Raghava Lawrence starrer action flick grossed Rs 1.61 crore in Chennai on opening day. Apart from the income in capital city of Tamil speaking state, the celluloid also earned about Rs 2 crore in other regions of the state. The film, which is remake of popular Telugu movie ‘Pataas’, received average response from audiences in the opening week.
As the celluloid is facing stringent box office clash with adjacently released Tamil cinema ‘Nagaram’, it is endeavoring to divulge a major chunk of spectators to its screening in the several multiplexes and theatres in the territory. The movie has earned more collection at box office than the earnings grossed by Sundeep Kishan, Regina Cassandra, Saptagiri and Raja Ravindra starrer flick.
The multi-starrer Tamil cinema, which also stars Nikki Galrani, Ashutosh Rana, Sathyaraj, Charandeep and Vamsi Krishna in lead roles, witnessed around 10% declination in the box office income on Monday and Tuesday. After grossing an average revenue in opening weekend, the movie also reported about 15% drop in the theatre occupancy on 4th and 5th day of its release.
