Bollywood movie ‘Mona Darling’ grossed a total box office collection of Rs 0.13 crore in India. The film performed consistently poor in several cinema halls and bagged a decent total at the box office. Hitting across around 200 screens in India, the celluloid reported about 10-15% occupancy in opening week and continued to get a decent response from the audiences in the theatres.
Releasing on 3rd March 2017, Shashi Sudigala directed thriller flick commenced its box office journey with Rs 0.029 crore opening day collection. The cinema, which starred Anshuman Jha, Divya Menon, Suzanna Mukherjee and Sanjay Suri in lead roles, witnessed around 10-15% occupancy on second and third day of its release. The film grossed Rs 0.03 crore and Rs 0.035 crore on its first Saturday and Sunday of release, respectively.
The celluloid reported declination in the box office earnings as it opened on Monday with receiving dull response from the people. The film faced a tough box office competition with Shahid Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan and Kangana Ranaut starrer ‘Rangoon’. The cinema also competed with ‘Commando 2 : The Black Money Trail’ at India’s box office.
The film somehow showcased average performance in the first week of its release and collected a total amount of Rs 0.16 crore as the overall box office collection. With the release of new Hindi cinema ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’, the other movies along with ‘Mona Darling’ started getting no response in theatres. Produced under the banner of ‘First Ray Films’, the movie earned zero income in overseas.
