Showcasing enhancement in the performance on weekend day, the celluloid witnessed hike in the theatre occupancy on Sunday and garnered average business on 3rd day of its release. Directed by K. V. Anand, this south Indian offering is expected to earn Rs 1 crore income on day 4.

Vijay Sethupathi starrer Tamil flick got a big start to its box office journey in opening weekend. The film minted Rs 3.1 crore on first day and received massive response from audiences on Friday. Showcasing growth in the business on following day, the celluloid witnessed hike in the theatre occupancy on Saturday and garnered Rs 4.2 crore on day 2.

The celluloid faced box office clash with another Tamil offering ‘Dora’, which earned Rs 1.3 crore on Friday and Rs 0.8 crore on Saturday. Nayatara’s movie didn’t succeed in surpassing the overall business made by ‘Kavan’ as the competition at box office has been tougher for the cinema to divulge a huge number of movie-watchers in south Indian state.

Apart from the whopping business in Tamil speaking state, the movie also exhibited enthralling performance in the overseas. The film collected $32K on Friday, which included $9K amount through the premiere. On Saturday, the Tamil offering grossed $41K and totalled its business in the international market to $82K. Latest overall box office collection figures are awaited.
