Pawan Kalyan and Shruti Hassan starrer newly released Telugu movie ‘Katamarayudu’ grossed an income of Rs 5.08 crore on second day of its release. The celluloid, which is a remake of 2014’s Tamil film ‘Veeram’, made a total business of Rs 27.33 crore in two days. The south Indian flick witnessed drop in the occupancy on its first Saturday in Indian cinema.
Hitting more than 1500 screens in India, the Telugu offering kicked off its box office journey with whopping amount of Rs 22.25 crore. Commencing the business at India’s box office with a huge opening day collection, the movie broke the record of Pawan’s previous film ‘Sardar Gabbar Singh’ which had minted Rs 20.50 crore collection on first day of release.
This is Shruti and Pawan’s second film which enticed a huge number of audience on the day of release (24th March). Curbing a copious attention from spectators, the celluloid got a good start for its business on Indian box office. On second day (Saturday), the film reported a sudden drop in the response from audiences in cinema halls and multiplexes.
Though the film had no big competition at box office in opening weekend, its performance declined to poorest mark on Saturday. Starring Shruti and Pawan in crucial roles, the celluloid performed well in the foreign countries. Showcasing awesome growth in the business, the movie raked plenteous income in international market.
