Akshay Kumar’s first movie of year (2017) collected Rs 181.77 crore total worldwide business. Subhash Kapoor’s courtroom drama pocketed Rs 109.21 crore overall income in India. The film grossed Rs 31.56 crore total collection in overseas. Huma Qureshi starrer flick raked Rs 150.29 crore approx total domestic business in three weeks.
The second installment of Jolly LLB franchise, which also featured Saurabh Shukla, Anu Kapoor and Sayani Gupta in significant roles, opened with Rs 13.2 crore first day collection. The movie boomed in terms of its business in weekend days and grossed Rs 50.46 crore in initial three days. The film grossed Rs 17.31 crore and Rs 19.95 crore on 2nd and 3rd day, respectively.
The film’s business dropped in second week as it raked Rs 45.12 crore in that week. As the celluloid faced box office clash with SRK’s Raees, Rakesh Roshan produced film ‘Kaabil’ and Vishal Bhardwaj’s directorial project ‘Rangoon’, its business again declined in third week. After pocketing a good income in 2nd week, the movie registered a business of Rs 8.21 crore in the 3rd week.
Produced under the banner of Star Fox Studios, the Hindi flick collected Rs 10.04 crore in north American countries (Canada and United States), Rs 10.74 crore in United Arab Emirates, Rs 2.31 crore in United Kingdom, Rs 1.84 crore Australia, Rs 0.03 crore in Malaysia, Rs 0.85 crore in New Zealand, Rs 0.01 crore in Germany and Rs 5.86 crore in rest of the world.
