Saurabh Shukla, Huma Qureshi, Sayani Gupta, Anu Kapoor and Akshay Kumar starrer Jolly LLB 2 completed 16 days at India’s box office and garnered a total collection of Rs 108.21 crore. The film totalled worldwide income of Rs 181.77 crore in sixteen days. The celluloid heading towards 200-crore club and is expected to enter the 200-crore mark by the end of third week.
On 17th day, Subhash Kapoor directed celluloid received average response from the audiences in northern, central and south India regions. The film performed quite well in northern Indian states, witnessing around 12% occupancy in morning shows. The movie reported slightly more occupancy in the central India as there are maximum fans of Bollywood movies in that region.
Karan Johar’s courtroom drama reported poor response in Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Tamil speaking states where the recently released south Indian movies have a good hold. Huma Qureshi’s first film of this year is facing box office competition with Telugu movie Singam 3, Kannada film Hebulli, Tamil flick Yaman and Malayalam cinema Aby.
The second installment of Jolly LLB has failed to create impression over the spectators in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu as the new movies released in respective regional languages have divulged a major chunk of movie-goers. The movie, which is produced under the banner of Star Fox Studios, has witnessed around 7% occupancy in south Indian regions.
Apart from the domestic arena, Jolly LLB 2’s box office collection in international market has been awesome. The movie has bagged a collection of Rs 31.5 crore in overseas. The movie reported maximum earnings in north American and gulf nations. The celluloid collected Rs 10.72 crore in UAE and Rs 10.04 crore in Canada and US. The film is expected to gross Rs 0.03 crore in overseas on day 17.
