Ek Tha Tiger box office collection created new records with its worldwide business grossed in one month. The Hindi movie earned a whopping income of Rs 199.26 crore in 4 weeks. Beating the previous records of Bollywood films ‘Wanted’, ‘Dabbang’ and ‘Ready’, the action drama flick emerged as the highest grosser cinema of Salman Khan’s career.

Taking a flying start to the box office itinerary, Sallu Bhai and Katrina Kaif starrer action offering minted a walloping monetary profit of Rs 32.92 crore on opening day. With bagging such a huge amount, Kabir Khan’s directorial venture performed quite excellently on the first day of release and met the filmmakers’ expectations by registering thunderous business.

In the first week, the movie continued perform well in domestic arena as well as in international market. Witnessing massive occupancy in initial six days, the Bollywood flick crossed Rs 100 crore mark. In first week, the Hindi celluloid amassed a humongous income of Rs 137.15 crore and grabbed a good rank in the list of highest earner movies of 2012.

Public response slightly declined in the week days, but the low response from audiences didn’t hamper the film’s business majorly. Receiving moderate response from the film-watchers, Salman Khan starrer action movie earned Rs 43.19 crore in second week and took the overall earnings to the next level by reaching Rs 180.44 crore trade mark.

Facing gradual drop in the audiences’ footfalls in cinema halls and multiplexes across the nation, the Hindi action film raked in Rs 12.61 crore income in entire third week and totaled Rs 193.05 crore box office collection in 3 weeks. In fourth week, the movie’s performance wasn’t up to the mark as it collected mere Rs 3 crore business in the third weekend.

Response from the cinema-watchers didn’t decline to zero as the celluloid continued divulge the attention of moderate number of audiences. By gaining steady response from the movie-watchers, the Bollywood celluloid bagged Rs 4.04 crore in fifth and sixth week of release. Worldwide business of the movie already surpassed Rs 250 crore mark to create new record.

Tiger Zinda Hai‘ is the sequel to this big movie which created new box office record. The second installment of Kabir Khan’s directorial project is directed by Ali Abbas Jafar. Produced by Aditya Chopra under the banner of ‘Yash Raj Films’, the action sequel stars Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif in leading roles. The celluloid also features Girish Karnad, Sudeep and Gavie Chahal in supporting roles.
