Adah Sharma and Esha Gupta starrer latest Hindi flick ‘Commando 2’ minted Rs 4.42 crore box office collection on 2nd day. The film, which also features action hero Vidyuta Jamwal in lead role, raked a total business of Rs 9.56 crore in two days. Till now, the celluloid has grossed a total worldwide collection of Rs 13.47 crore in initial two weekend days.
Apart from its business in domestic arena, the second installment of Commando franchise scored average box office numbers in the international market. The film pocketed Rs 0.06 crore in New Zealand and Rs 0.02 crore in Australia. Showcasing excellent performance in North American countries, the movie registered a business of Rs 0.11 crore in Canada and United States.
The movie performed comparatively well than its first part, which had raked Rs 3.69 crore collection on first day of its release. Hitting across more than 2200 screens in India, ‘Commando 2 : The Black Money Trail’ has grossed an overall business of Rs 13.28 crore in India. The film totalled Rs 0.19 crore earnings in the foreign countries.
The film is not witnessing box office clash with any new film starring a megastar. As the movie has been released in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu languages, it received a good response in central and south Indian states. The multilingual cinema is facing box office competition with Telugu version of ‘The Ghazi Attack’ in Telugu speaking states. The movie is also competing with Suriya’s ‘Singam 3’, which has a good hold in most of the multiplexes and cinema halls in south Indian region.
