Directed by famous south Indian filmmaker – Lakshman, the Tamil movie ‘Bogan’ made a collection of Rs 16 crore in first week at India’s box office. The celluloid, which hit screens on 2nd February, received an average response from the audiences in cinema halls as Akshay Kumar and Huma Qureshi starrer Bollywood film ‘Jolly LLB 2’ had a good hold in the theatres.
Kicking off the box office journey with decent collections, Hansika Motwani’s film showcased good performance in Tamil Nadu and garnered collection of Rs 1.61 crore in first week and Rs 0.5 crore in second week. Though the celluloid faced box office clash with ‘Bairavaa’ film in first week, it excelled in other parts of the state and curbed an amount of Rs 4 crore in Chengalpet.
After bagging an amazing collection in initial week of release, Arvind Swami’s Tamil flick witnessed drop in the business. The movie, which performed outstandingly in first week, reported declination in the response from audiences in the second week. As Suriya’s ‘Singam 3’ opened in the theatres in that week, a big number of spectators was divulged and people started crowding near ticket window to purchase tickets for ‘Singam 3’ film.
The Tamil flick, which starred Jayam Ravi, Varun and Akshara Gowda in lead roles alongside Arvind and Hansika, observed less footfalls of audiences in the multiplexes and cinema halls in next week. However, the simultaneously released Tamil cinema ‘Enakku Vaaitha Adimaigal’ also hindered the box office journey of ‘Bogan’ movie and impacted its box office business in India. Apart from the average business in domestic market, ‘Bogan’ film received low response in the overseas.
