Newly released action musical movie ‘Beauty and the Beast’ raked $16.3 million at night screening preview on Thursday. Produced under the banner of ‘Walt Disney Pictures’, the celluloid grossed this amount in North American countries. The movie, which has been released at 4,210 locations, is expected to gross $120 million total box office collection in the first weekend.

Apart from this income in domestic arena, the latest Hollywood flick collected $1 million in Italy, $1.8 million in Brazil, $1.1 million in Germany and $1.2 million in South Korea. Directed by popular filmmaker Bill Condon, the film bagged $14.5 million in China. Opening to a splendid occupancy in the cinema halls, the Hollywood cinema is expected to see growth in its business in the weekend days.

The latest American 3D musical romantic dark fantasy film, which stars Emma Watson and Dan Stevens in lead roles, has made an overall business of $27.4 million. The celluloid with $160 million budget is facing a huge box office clash with adjacently released American movies – ‘All Nighter’, ‘Atomica’, ‘Song to Song’, ‘T2 Trainspotting’ and ‘The Belko Experiment’.

In the race to earn maximum amount of box office collection, ‘Beauty and the Beast’ seems to have a good hold in the multiplexes and cinema halls. Though there is a tough competition at US box office, the film is showcasing excellent performance by receiving a handsome amount of audiences’ response in the theatres. The celluloid is expected to make a huge business of $300 in the first week.
