Bareilly Ki Barfi Box Office Collection Day 5 Total Business Worldwide Income Overseas Report : On 5th day, newly released Bollywood movie ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi‘ witnessed slight increment in the overall occupancy in morning, noon, evening and night shows. The multi-starrer flick, which features Kriti Sanon, Rajkumar Rao and Ayushmann Khurrana in main leads, received mixed reviews from the critics as well as audiences and grossed Rs 2.42 crore on opening day.
The film with comedy and romantic genre suffered box office clash with latest Hindi celluloid ‘Toilet Ek Prem Katha‘. Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar starrer offering created new record by earning Rs 96.05 crore total income in 7 days. Releasing on 3000 screens in India, the movie with a social message ranked well in the list of top highest grossing movies of this year.
Produced under the banner of ‘Junglee Pictures & BR Studios’, BKB showcased excellent performance on 2nd day and raked Rs 3.87 crore. Directed by Ashwini Iyer Tiwari, the romcom flick also faced severe box office competition with adjacently released Bollywood movie ‘Partition : 1947‘. The film, which narrates historical importance of the partition happened in 1947, too got average response from the film-watchers.
Alongside Kriti, Khurrana and Rao, the latest Bollywood celluloid ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi‘ stars Pankaj Tripathi and Seema Bhargava in supporting roles. The artists promoted their film at various platforms so as to receive maximum response in the cinema halls in opening weekend of release. The number of footfalls witnessed were quite less compared to the occupancy witnessed by TEPK.
On other hand, Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma’s ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal‘ reported usual decline in its performance on Indian box office. The celluloid managed to rake in Rs 62 crore total earnings in 2 weeks. The romantic offering failed to producers’ expectations of grossing triple digit box office collection in domestic arena. But it received ample response in foreign countries and bagged Rs 144 crore overall business in the international market.
However, recently released south Indian movies ‘Jaya Janaki Nayaka’, ‘Nene Raju Nene Mantri‘, ‘LIE’ and ‘Velaiilla Pattadhari 2‘ maintained good hold in the Telugu and Tamil speaking regions. ‘VIP 2’ and ‘NRNM’ recorded a huge business in the opening weekend and never let the Hindi films attract a major chunk of audiences in Tamil Nadu, Telanagana and Andhra Pradesh.
