Alia Bhatt’s latest Hindi movie ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’, which features popular Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan in lead role, grossed Rs 4.5 crore box office collection on 8th day. The film collected Rs 5.05 crore on Thursday and showcased slight declination in its performance on 2nd Friday. The movie has collected a total business of Rs 77.68 crore in eight days.

Shashank Khaitan’s movie reported drop in occupancy on this Friday (17th March) as Govinda starrer ‘Aa Gaya Hero’, Rajkumar Rao led ‘Trapped’ and Mustafa Burmawalla’s debut Hindi film ‘Machine’ hit the theatre screens. The celluloid faced a huge box office clash with these new releases and witnessed an impact of it over its business at India’s box office.

The newly released films divulged a huge number of audiences and brought down the response of spectators for ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’. The second installment of ‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania’ reported about 10% occupancy on day 8. The movie, which narrates a story of relationship between two young lovers (a girl and a boy), is expected to do a consistent business in the weekend days of second week.

The film, which marks the third collaboration of Alia and Varun on big screen, has already entered 100-crore overall box office collection. The celluloid has raked an overall income of Rs 105.71 crore in eight days. Apart from the splendid earnings in domestic arena, the film produced by Karan Johar has grossed Rs 18.85 crore total collection in overseas. Latest box office figures are awaited.
