The romantic movie ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’, which revolves around the love story between a young boy and girl, raked a box office collection of Rs 5.05 crore on 7th day of its release. The film, which gained slightly less response on its first Thursday in Indian cinema, witnessed about 15% drop in the box office earnings grossed on sixth day in first week.
Hitting across more than three thousands screens across the nation, the celluloid collected Rs 73.28 crore in seven days. Produced under the banner of ‘Dharma Productions’, the Hindi offering has completed one week in the cinema halls. Fortunately, the Bollywood flick has no movie of any big superstar in competition at India’s box office and thus it has a good chance to perform well in its second week also.
Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt’s chemistry seems to be quite influential as the mobs in theatres have been responding to the cinema on larger scale. The same is reflected through its box office business, which is expected to enter 100-crore club by the end of second week. The movie earned Rs 43 crore in weekend days and added Rs 30.28 crore to the overall collection in remaining four days of first week.
Not only in India but also in the overseas, the movie grabbed good amount of revenue by fascinating the audiences in multiplexes and cinema halls. Till now, Shashank Khaitan’s directorial project has minted Rs 18.81 crore in the international market. The summation of worldwide collection become Rs 105.31 crore with the addition of this overseas income to the domestic gross.
