Popular Indian filmmaker Shashank Khaitan’s latest Bollywood movie ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’ grossed Rs 7.25 crore on fifth day of its release. Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt starrer newly released romantic film collected a total business of Rs 62.38 crore in five days. The celluloid, which is based on love story, reported around 12% occupancy on its 1st Tuesday in Indian cinema.
The film, which released on 10th March on more than 3000 screens in India, began its journey at box office with Rs 12.25 crore opening day collection. Witnessing hike in the earnings, the movie grossed Rs 14.75 crore on second day of its release. The film’s business further grew on Sunday and it raked an income of Rs 16.05 crore on third day of release.
After grossing a whopping amount of Rs 43 crore in weekend days, Karan Johar produced cinema experienced drop in its box office business on fourth day. Reporting about 10% declination in the income, the movie collected Rs 12.08 crore on Monday and showcased mitigation in its business at India’s box office. Witnessing more drop in the business, the movie earned Rs 7.25 crore on fifth day.
Apart from this fabulous performance in the domestic arena, the movie also showcased awesome performance in the overseas. The celluloid, which has been produced under the banner of ‘Dharma Productions’, grossed an overall box office collection of Rs 18.77 crore in five days. The film raked maximum business of Rs 5.71 crore in North America.
Varun and Alia’s film also exhibited excellent performance in other countries. The movie registered a business of Rs 1.44 crore in United Kingdom. After getting a good response in UK and US, the celluloid excelled in other nations. The Hindi flick collected Rs 0.84 crore in Australia, Rs 0.07 crore in Germany, Rs 0.02 crore in Malaysia, Rs 0.66 crore in New Zealand and Rs 10.03 from rest of the world.
