Witnessing about 40% occupancy, Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan starrer latest romantic film ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’ collected Rs 14.5 crore on Saturday (second day of the film’s release). The movie minted Rs 12.25 crore on opening day. Adding both the box office incomes, the celluloid has grossed a total amount of Rs 26.75 crore in two days.
Shashank Khaitan’s directorial venture reported hike in its earnings on second day. The film opened to 35% occupancy on Friday (10th March 2017) and grossed Rs 12.25 crore first day collection. The celluloid’s business grew on day and it minted Rs 14.5 crore. The movie is expected to see more hike in its earnings on third day (Sunday) of its release.
Releasing across 300 screens in overseas, the sequel to ‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania’ showcased awesome performance in the foreign countries. The movie registered good businesses in North American countries (Canada and United States), Germany, New Zealand, Pakistan, United Kingdom, Australia and United Arab Emirates. Till now, the film has grossed an overall collection of Rs 2 crore in overseas.
The celluloid reported good occupancy in cinema halls on day 1 and 2. The film received maximum response in central Indian states. The cinema is getting average response in Telugu speaking states as newly released Telugu movie ‘Maanagaram’ is having a good hold in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’ is also performing well in north India.
