Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan’s romantic film ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’ minted Rs 0.85 crore income as its 20th day collection. Witnessing about 7 to 10% occupancy in the morning shows on day 20, the Hindi celluloid showcased steady growth in its business in noon and evening shows. The movie garnered Rs 110.64 crore overall box office earnings in 20 days.
Exhibiting steadiness in the performance on Indian box office, Shashank Khaitan’s directorial project received declined response from audiences on its 3rd Wednesday in Indian cinema. Though the movie faced box office clash with Anushka Sharma and Diljit Dosanjh starrer ‘Phillauri’, it succeeded in reporting a good number of footfalls in the cinema halls and multiplexes.
Commencing the journey at box office with Rs 12.25 crore opening day collection, the Bollywood offering grossed a total business of Rs 43.05 crore in initial three days of first week. The film’s income geared up in that entire week and surpassed 70-crore club by grossing an overall collection of Rs 77.23 crore in seven days of opening week.
After earning a whopping income in 7 days, the Hindi flick experienced drop in the theatre occupancy as well as the response from spectators in cinema halls. The film collected Rs 26.79 crore in second week and successfully entered the 100-crore club by the end of 14th day. Till now, the movie has completed twenty days and has registered a business of Rs 110.64 crore.
Alongside this excellent performance in domestic zone, the celluloid also grabbed massive attention of audiences in the overseas. Performing well in the international market, the Hindi cinema bagged Rs 12.3 crore in North American countries – United States and Canada, Rs 1.39 crore in New Zealand, Rs 1.75 crore in Australia, Rs 3.14 crore in United Kingdom, Rs 0.11 crore in Germany, Rs 0.04 crore in Malaysia and Rs 10.03 crore from rest of the world.
