Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt starrer latest Bollywood movie ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’ received low response on 15th day of its release. Witnessing about 10% occupancy in the cinema halls, the film grossed Rs 1.35 crore on day 15. Till now, the love story based Hindi celluloid has raked Rs 102.09 crore overall box office collection in India.
Directed by India’s popular filmmaker Shashank Khaitan, the romantic movie collected a good revenue in two weeks. Hitting more than 3000 screens in domestic arena, the Bollywood offering gathered an income of Rs 43.05 crore in opening weekend. After garnering a whopping amount in first-three days, the Hind flick witnessed drop in the earnings on next four days of first week.
Pocketing a satisfactory income in remaining days of the opening week, the celluloid totalled a collection of Rs 77.23 crore in seven days. Produced by Karan Johar under the banner of ‘Dharma Productions’, the film made a business of Rs 26.79 crore in second week. Thus, the Hindi cinema showcased poor performance in from 8th day to 14th day of its release.
After surpassing the 100-crore mark on day 14, Varun and Alia’s film reported sharp decline in its business. Apart from the excellent box office business in India, the second installment of ‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania’ also exhibited splendid performance in overseas and grossed Rs 26.09 crore collection in the international market. The movie has bagged a worldwide total income of Rs 165.5 crore in fifteen days.
