Releasing across more than 3500 screens in India, Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan starrer latest Bollywood flick ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’ showcased massive growth in its box office income on 2nd Sunday and minted Rs 7.25 crore on 10th day of its release. The celluloid, which revolves around the love story between a young boy and girl, has collected a total income of Rs 93 crore in ten days.
The film hit screens on 10th March and collected Rs 43 crore in the first-three days of opening week. Witnessing around 40% occupancy in the weekend days, the movie produced under the banner of ‘Dharma Productions’ got benefited with the holiday due to ‘Holi’ festival and thus, the celluloid maintained consistency in earning a good amount on fourth day also. The Hindi flick grossed Rs 55.25 crore in four days.
After garnering whopping collection in initial 4 days, the celluloid reported drop in its box office business in next three days of the first week and bagged a total collection of Rs 62.28 crore in last three days of the opening week. The romantic cinema, which has been directed by Shashank Khaitan, performed well in the initial three days of second week and showcased improvement in the earnings.
The impact of newly released Bollywood movies wasn’t observed as Varun and Alia starrer film has continued to exhibit fabulous performance at India’s box office in the second week. Apart from the total gross of Rs 93 crore in domestic arena, the romantic celluloid has pocketed Rs 19 crore in overseas. The film is still performing well in the international market and is expected to curb more revenue in the foreign countries.
