Lijo Jose Pellissery directed latest Malayalam movie ‘Angamaly Diaries’ raked an overall box office collection of Rs 2.4 crore in first week. The celluloid, which hit screens on 3rd March, showcased excellent performance in opening weekend by divulging a good number of audiences in the cinema halls. The cinema reported around 10-12% occupancy in first-three days.
Antony Varghese and Amritha Anna starrer movie had an average opening in the mega cities of Kerala. Acquiring a good response in the cities like Ernakulm, Trivandrum and Kozhikkode, the latest Malayalam movie produced under the banner of production company – ‘Friday Film House’, collected an income of Rs 0.75 (early estimated) crore on first day of its release.
With the passage of days, the celluloid’s business remained stagnant in domestic arena. Curbing an average response from the spectators in theatres, the movie witnessed consistent occupancy and grossed Rs 0.76 crore and Rs 0.56 crore on third and fourth day of release. Trade analysts confirmed these box office figures by revealing it on social media.
The newly released flick didn’t get steady response in second week. The film also failed to acquire a good response in overseas. The multi-starrer cinema, which tells the story of local people and their life at Angamaly, witnessed gradual drop in the box office earnings in second week.
