Directed by popular south Indian filmmaker Midhun Manuel Thomas, the latest Malayalam movie ‘Alamara’ received good response from audiences on its first day of release. The celluloid reportedly witnessed about 15% occupancy on opening day. The movie is expected to earn a business of Rs 1.4 crore on its first Friday in Indian cinema.
The multi-starrer Malayalam flick, which features Sunny Wayne, Ranji Panicker, Aditi Ravi and Aju Varghese in main roles, released in India on 17th March. The film hit screens in UAE on 16th March, one day before its release in India. As the family entertainer is witnessing box office clash with the Telugu, Tamil and Kannada films, the film (Alamara) is garnering average response in south Indian states other than Kerala.
This newly released Mollywood cinema faced box office clash with movie ‘C/O Saira Banu’ on 19th March (Saturday). Hence, the film ‘Alamara’ reported a little drop in the theatre occupancy on Saturday and collected steady income on second day. Apart from the competition at box office with new Malayalam movie, Sunny Wayne’s film is also experiencing clash with Hindi movie ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’ which is having a good hold in the cinema halls.
Alongside the release in India, the celluloid has also been released in the overseas. The comedy movie reportedly got a good start in the foreign countries and showcased satisfactory performance in the international market. Trade analysts revealed on social media that the cinema is getting average response in overseas. Latest box office figures are awaited.
